Last Saturday, representatives from AFS office sat down with school club leaders and patrons from five high schools in the Cape Coast Region for our first regional meeting. St. Augustine’s College generously hosted us in its lecture hall.

The outcome of the meeting was fruitful.

  1. After brainstorming ideas for our 50 year anniversary, we decided to hold two levels of celebration, both national and regional.
  2. The national theme was voted to be “Act Locally, Impact Globally.”
  3. For the development of AFS school clubs, we discussed the possibility to bring academic mentorship into our current activities.
  4. We formed AFS Cape Coast Area Committee and set up an example for other regions.

After the meeting, more than 70 students entered the hall to enjoy performances and activities organized by themselves.

There will be two more regional meetings, in the Eastern region and the Greater Accra region respectively.
